AFTER the success of providing free Indian food to elderly and vulnerable people, the Little Bengal takeaway delivered 200 meals to frontline NHS staff at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital.

The food was prepared after help from the Bromsgrove Community Support Facebook page, £270 raised by Hayley Miles and a contribution from the Catshill eatery itself.

The takeaway has also given each staff member a £5 off voucher which can be used as many times as they like Sunday to Thursday until further notice.

Little Bengal director Jomir Uddin said: “I feel its very important we show support for our frontline workers who risk everything to provide us with an outstanding service during these difficult times.

“I am glad Little Bengal can support the community and we will always be here to help.”

So far, with the NHS employees, elderly and vulnerable, Little Bengal has delivered 500 meals across Bromsgrove.

“I would like to thank the team at Little Bengal especially the chefs and our delivery drivers who have been working very hard to make this happen.”

He added the takeaway was open as normal for contactless delivery and collection but social distancing had to be observed.
