PIE and mash is normally associated with London and the south east but a hotel in the Lickey Hills has launched the first delivery service of the popular dish for the area.
The historic Rose and Crown Hotel has been among those hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, being closed to guests during the lockown.
But Andrew Hodges, who owns the independent venue, has adapted the business with the food delivery service part of his plan to keep it afloat until the hotel can start taking guests again.
The introduction of the pie and mash service comes after the success of a similar one centred on Sunday lunches.
And the Lickey Pies range – created using local produce and aimed to appeal to a variety of tastes – have gone down well with the hotel’s loyal customers.
Pies, accompanied by a choice of mash, a side and a gravy or sauce, are currently only available on a Thursday but demand will see this potentially rolled out on other days.
