Last chance! Rubery charities urged to apply for Jack's funding worth hundreds

IT’S LAST chance saloon for Rubery organisations to bid for Jack’s supermarket’s latest round of funding.

Four successful organisations will each receive £500 to help them navigate what is hoped to be the final months of lockdown.

The Bristol Road South supermarket usually awards £250, but the bumper sum was increased this time to support local charities whose fundraising efforts will likely have been impacted by the pandemic.

Under the Jack’s Supports scheme, which launched when the store opened in 2018, a staggering £27,000 has been awarded across 68 organisations.

Ryan Bird, manager at Jack’s Rubery, said: “We created the scheme to give something back to the local communities that have supported us since our launch.

“As charity fundraising has been massively affected, we are delighted to offer more support than ever before.

“There are so many wonderful charities and organisations in Rubery, which is why we’re urging people to come forward and apply before the deadline and be in with a chance of receiving this cash.”

The deadline for this round of applications is Sunday, February 28.
