A KINDHEARTED year seven pupil has raised more than £100 for a school in South Africa, writes Anu Shukla.

Elâ Shuker from Winterfold School, Chaddesley Corbett organised the charity fundraiser for Ncemaneni – Winterfold’s sister school in South Africa as part of her Young Apprentice Challenge.

The determined pupil made 50 pots of slime which she sold in a packets with sweets to friends during a session of afternoon tea, sandwiches, cakes and drinks.

She chose a charity chick soft toy to help boost her sales and went on to sell more of her magical concoctions during the last week of term.

The enterprising youngster is continuing to raise cash now the school is back after the Easter break

Elâ said she was looking forward to next year’s school trip to south Africa and is already excited about meeting the children when she gets there.
