Kind youngsters to break down barriers by cooking Christmas dinner for Bromsgrove's elderly

KIND-HEARTED members of Bromsgrove Youth and Community Hub will be holding a Christmas dinner for the town’s older people this Saturday, December 7.

It will take place at Bromsgrove Baptist church, where the group is based, after the success of last year’s event which saw 40 pensioners attend.

Youth worker Daniel Owen said: “We are hoping to achieve similar numbers again and already have 35 people confirmed.

“Our aim is to break down barriers and hopefully get rid of any bad perceptions of what young people are like.”




The youngsters have invited residents from Nailers Court care home, regulars from the church and also Bromsgrove Library.

Guests will arriving at 12:30pm for a prompt 1pm lunch.


Afterwards the hub’s young people will perform a three-song choir and host a short quiz, before finishing with a raffle.
