STOKE Prior seems to be a hotbed of Worcestershire’s finest wildlife this year – after Jo Till’s woodpeckers, swan and cygnets, photographer Sarah Rea sent in this picture of three kestrels.

The feathered family members were staring out of the window of St Michael and All Angels’ Church.

Sarah, who has been a keen photographer for the past four years and mainly takes pictures of birds, said: “I had heard about the woodpeckers and had gone to see them and noticed the kestrels by chance.

“The first time I went I saw one, then three and then five which, with mum and dad, makes seven.”

She said with all the hazards facing birds of prey it was great to see.

“I hope they all fledge well and go on to have happy and healthy kestrel lives.”

Sarah has struggled for subjects during the lockdown because all of the nature reserves she normally uses have been shut.

“This is the best shot I have taken all year – it was great the three of them were looking out at that moment.”
