REMEMBRANCE Sunday will be very different this year – in the past few days representatives and organisations have already been laying their wreaths in advance at the war monuments in Bromsgrove.

A short act of Remembrance will be broadcast live on our Bromsgrove Standard Facebook page from 10.50am on Sunday, November 8, and on the St John’s Church YouTube Channel.

Bromsgrove District Council has also put together a video montage of photographs of people laying wreaths.

A bell will be rung at 11am from St John’s Church.

On Armistice Day on Wednesday we will also be broadcasting a short Act of Remembrance on the Bromsgrove Standard Facebook page.

The Royal British Legion has urged people not to attend the the live services and instead stand on their doorsteps at 11am to observe their own two-minute silence.

And people have also been encouraged to decorate their windows with poppy pictures in the run up to the day.

If you are laying a wreath or have laid one – send us your pictures to [email protected]
