Hanbury First School staff and students celebrate 'good' Ofsted report

HANBURY C of E First School is celebrating after its recent Ofsted report graded it ‘good’ and above the national average, writes Demi Andrews.

HM Inspectors visited in January and found there was a ‘close-knit and cohesive team’.

The report said the school continued to deliver a good quality of education.




The document, available to read on the school’s website, praises staff and children alike, stating, ‘pupils’ behaviour is exemplary’.

Staff were also happy Ofsted recognised its commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupils with additional needs.


The report did suggest some areas of improvement.

These included challenging the most able pupils in writing to enable them to make stronger progress and developing clear curriculum plans to help develop pupils’ knowledge and skills progressively in all subjects.

Jenny Bottril, Chair of Governors, said: “The governors are very proud of all the excellent achievements of the children and staff and we are very pleased these have been recognised and celebrated in the ‘good’ Ofsted report.”
