HAGLEY Catholic High School closed to all pupils today (Wednesday) following the ‘sudden death of a much-loved teacher’.
Parents and students were alerted to the closure on the school’s website last night which stated it was due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ and only teachers would be in attendance.
It has since been confirmed the decision was a ‘mark of respect’ following the sudden death of much-loved teacher, Dr Abigail Brown, last night.
Headteacher Suzanne Horan, said: “We are all devastated at this unexpected loss and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.”
The school will reopen as normal tomorrow (Thursday) and support will be available for colleagues and students.
