Great strides made as Bromsgrove prepares to host Walking Hockey Festival

Bromsgrove Editorial 14th Jun, 2019

TEAMS from across the country will be talking part in a celebration of Walking Hockey in Bromsgrove on Sunday (June 16).

Bromsgrove Hockey Club introduced the game in September 2016 and it has since gone global, being played all over the world.

Teams from Alderley Edge, Ashby, Cheltenham, Colwall and Malvern will take part in Sunday’s event which runs from 3pm to 5pm.

Walking Hockey developer Alan Gormley said: “We’ve already had several other clubs contact us from as far away as Scotland about coming to the next festival.

“It is exciting to see the physical and mental benefits of the sport helping so many people, some of whom have never played hockey before.”

Regular sessions, suitable for all ages and abilities, are held at the club every Monday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
