A PARENT of one of the Bromsgrove (Finstall) 7th Beavers praised the litter-pick that the group took part in as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
They said: “Activities like litter-picking really reinforce to the kids how their local community should be looked after.
“We’re really grateful that you arrange these things for the hour they’re with you on a Friday evening. So valuable.”
The 20 participants collected 12 full bags of litter in an hour.
A spokesperson for the group said: “We always really enjoy litter picking in our local community and try to recycle as much of this as we can.
“We have previously done picks in Sanders park and we plan to do more in the future.”
The community-minded youngsters also enjoyed a visit to Bromsgrove Fire Station the week before.
The beavers meet once-a-week and take part in a number of outdoor activities, trying to get out in the local community as often as they can.
Beavers are able to work towards getting various badges and awards which they can then put on their uniform.
