FOR THIS week’s Bromsgrove and Droitwich Standard Podcast we were joined by Gemma and Andy Cartwright who came in to talk about the Pride of Longbridge Rally.
The event was started by Gemma 14 years ago when MG Rover collapsed.
Thousands of people and hundreds of cars, all built at Longbridge, will descend on Cofton Park from 10am to 4pm tomorrow to celebrate the area’s car-building heritage.
Residents living in Longbridge, Rednal and Rubery are being reminded there will be increased traffic levels as the vehicles make their way to and from the park.
This year will be a special one as it is the 60th anniversary of the Mini and there will be a special stand where people can submit their Mini Memories.
The organisers want stories, videos and photographs relating to people driving Minis, building them or working on them so they can be used during Pride of Longbridge heritage days and events.
There will also be an ex-employees tent, an Austin ex-apprentices tent and other milestones will be celebrated, including 25 years of the R8.
