HERE are five fantastically festive things to do in Bromsgrove and Rubery this weekend:

Bromsgrove’s Festival of Light parade

THE BROMSGROVE Festival of Light parade returns at 5pm on Sunday, December 9, starting outside Poundland.

The event, created by Artrix, NWedR and Bromsgrove District Council, will see 850 lanterns in the procession, illuminating the town.




The lanterns have been made with the help of artist Kristoffer Huball and World renowned Manchester carnival company Shademakers will be taking part in the procession, along with town Samba band Someone At The Door and popular band The Destroyers.

Christmas Carols with Bromsgrove Community Choir

ON Friday, December 7, Bromsgrove Community Choir will be singing festive favourites and Christmas classics at the town’s library.

Everyone is welcome to the event which starts at 10.30am.

 

The Stroke Association’s Christmas Fayre

THERE will be a Santa’s grotto, a variety of gift stalls, carol singing and more at the annual Christmas Fayre at Bromsgrove’s Life After Stroke Centre.

The event, from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, December 8, will raise funds for the Stroke Association.

A CHRISTMAS Craft Fair will be held at St Chad’s Church in Rubery from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, December 8.

There will be more than 20 stalls selling a variety of cards, jewellery, cakes, bespoke furniture, sewn items, unique prints, Christmas decorations, bags, bows and more.

A selection of seasonal refreshments will also be available throughout the day.

THE FINAL performances of The Jigsaw Players’ Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood take place at 7pm on Friday, December 7, 4pm on Saturday, December 8, and 2pm on Sunday, December 9.

The show, at the Trinity Centre in Lickey, is full of one-liners, audience interaction, music, dance and much more.
