First Bournheath social meeting gets positive response from community

Bromsgrove Editorial 18th Mar, 2018   0

THE FIRST in a series of group meetings in Bournheath aimed at giving residents the chance to meet other people and socialise has received a positive response from the community.

More than 20 people attended the first session at Bournheath Village Community Centre where they enjoyed cup of tea and a chat with friends and neighbours.

The meetings will generally meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, with the first from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and the third from 10am to 12pm.

Visitors can enjoy a well-stocked book bank, an area for board games, as well as guest speakers and demonstrations.

Louise Colley, at the Claypit Lane centre, said: “Anyone is invited to go alone or with a friend, and to take children or grandchildren.

“People can stay for the whole time or just drop in to exchange a book or have a cup of coffee and a chat.

“So many people live alone and often don’t have anywhere to go for an informal, friendly and welcoming atmosphere – this could just help.”

The next get-together will be on March 21 from 10am to 12pm and all are welcome.
