FIREFIGHTERS requested a road in Romsley be gritted after a crash this morning.

The single car incident happened around 7.40am at the junction of Newtown Lane and Yew Tree.

One fire crew from Bromsgrove was sent to the scene and made the vehicle safe.

The woman was checked over by paramedics at the scene.

The fire crew then contacted Worcestershire Highways to ask for the road to be gritted because of a large amount of black ice.

Gritters were out on the country’s roads from 6pm treating Worcestershire’s primary routes.
