'Energy Advice Service' can help Bromsgrove residents cut their household bills

Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Feb, 2020   0

FREE energy advice is now available through Bromsgrove District Council’s Energy Advice Service which is aimed at helping people cut their fuel bills and ‘keep warm for less’ this winter.

Residents can speak to expert advisers who will provide tailored guidance on tariff switching, how best to use heating controls and easy lifestyle changes which can be made to save energy.

Residents can also learn which energy efficiency upgrades, such as insulation types and heating solutions, will be most cost effective for their type of property.

In addition, eligible householders will be guided on funding available for more energy efficient installations including A-rated boilers and insulation. Both can also lead to significant fuel bill savings.

Bromsgrove District Council is working with YES Energy Solutions which provide tailored advice and facilitate energy efficiency installations through a network of accredited installers.

Coun Margaret Sherrey, whose portfolio covers environmental services, said: “With winter well underway, our Energy Advice Service is aiming to provide people in the area with the guidance they need on how to stay warm whilst keeping fuel bills affordable.

“With our new partners YES Energy Solutions, we hope to offer householders effective support with energy advice and easier access to funding opportunities.”

Residents who would like to receive energy advice or discover if they are eligible for funding should call the Energy Advice Service on 03301 355 321.

Bromsgrove District Council is also still continuing its involvement in the Warmer Worcestershire partnership alongside local energy advice agency Act on Energy.

This countywide partnership delivers funding from the Warm Homes Fund for the installation of first-time central heating in mains gas areas for eligible homeowners or private tenants.
