Cyclist left fighting for his life after crash in Clent earlier today

POLICE are trying to track down the driver of a black BMW who is a potential witness to an incident near Clent today which left a cyclist fighting for his life.

The rider on a black and red Ridley racing bike was travelling along Broome Lane from Clent towards Hagley around 10.40am.

He was found in the middle of the road by a passing motorist and had suffered serious head injuries.

He has been taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where his condition is described as life threatening.




He has been placed in an induced coma.

The passing motorist noticed a black BMW travelling towards her prior to coming across the cyclist.


Officers investigating the incident have been unable to trace the vehicle so far and are appealing for the driver to please come forward.

PoliceĀ  also want any other witnesses who may have seen the cyclist and any vehicles on Broome Lane just prior to the incident to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
