County Council workers praised for commitment over Christmas

Bromsgrove Editorial 1st Jan, 2020   0

WORKERS for Worcestershire County Council have been praised for their commitment over the Christmas period.

The authority’s chief executive, Paul Robinson, has thanked staff who have given up valuable time with their families to carry on working.

Hundreds of social workers and social care staff continued to make calls and ensure vulnerable people still received the care and support they needed.

More than 30 Highways staff members also continued to work – in all weathers – monitoring road conditions and dealing with any issues.

Mr Robinson said: “I am immensely proud of our staff.

“While we were opening presents and tucking into our turkey, hundreds of council staff continued their day job.

“Many essential services stayed open such as care services, winter gritting and children’s services.”
