Counting down to the Christmas lights switch-ons in Bromsgrove and Rubery

THERE will be plenty of festive family fun and entertainment when the annual light switch-ons take place in the district.

Next Saturday, November 23, the plunger will be pushed in Bromsgrove outside the Golden Cross Inn at 5.30pm.

Prior to that there will be a music roadshow hosted by town resident and BBC Hereford and Worcester radio presenter Malcolm Boyden.

Father Christmas, Snow White will be turning on the lights with other special guests and there will be live entertainment throughout the day.




The popular Christmas Market returns next Friday and Saturday with the Indie Club (Bromsgrove independent businesses) holding its seasonal street party from 2pm to 9pm on Worcester Road, featuring street food, art, cocktails, live music and entertainment.

The Rubery switch-on will happen the following Saturday on November 30 with the town being illuminated at 5.30pm at the usual venue on New Road.


Visitors can enjoy music and entertainment from 3.30pm including ‘Free to Dream’, singer Emma Nuule, Beaconside School Choir, Rubery Singers and St James’ School Choir as well as getting another opportunity to meet Father Christmas and the Runaway Tree Fairy.
