THE TEAM of ‘I Am Not Lost – Bromsgrove’ volunteers gathered in the town centre yesterday evening to hand out items to the homeless and vulnerable.
Among the items were give gloves, hats, scarves, coats and sleeping bags.
Items were also tied to lamp posts and other street furniture to help raise awareness of the issue, accompanied by tags detailing that people who needed them were free to take them.
The event, led by Corrinna, was one of many going on around the country and the town’s one was also supported by the Bromsgrove Ladies’ Circle.
One member was tying an item to a lamp post when they were approached by a 29-year-old man who asked if they needed help.
He told them his story – about he was evicted from his temporary accommodation because he had a dog. He refuses to give up his dog as she was like a family member to him.
He was one of the people helped by the group.
