Christmas and new year train times for Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Barnt Green, Alvechurch, Northfield and Longbridge

RAIL USERS should check before they travel over Christmas and New Year as reduced timetables will be operating.

On Christmas Eve, the last trains to Bromsgrove will leave Birmingham New Street at 6.49pm, 7.19pm and 8.59pm, while the last services to Droitwich will be at 7.19pm, 8.59pm and 10.10pm. The last trains from Birmingham Snow Hill to Droitwich will be at 7.56pm, 8.56pm and 9.56pm.

There will be three trains per hour to Redditch, via Northfield, Longbridge, Barnt Green and Alvechurch, and the last services from Birmingham New Street will leave Birmingham 9.14pm, 9.42pm and 10.12pm.

There will be no trains on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.




From December 27 to 30, there will be an hourly service between Birmingham New Street and Worcester, taking in Bromsgrove and Droitwich. There will be three trains per hour between Lichfield and Redditch.

On New Year’s Eve, the last trains from Birmingham New Street to Bromsgrove will be at 6.49pm, 7.19pm and 8.59pm, while the last services to Droitwich will be at 7.19pm, 8.59pm and 10.10pm. The last services to Redditch, via Northfield, Longbridge, Barnt Green and Alvechurch, will be at 10.12pm, 10.42pm and 11.13pm. The last trains from Birmingham Snow Hill to Droitwich will leave at 9.48pm, 9.56pm and 11.01pm.


On New Year’s Day, most London Midland services, including the one to Worcester, via Bromsgrove and Droitwich, and the cross-city line will run a Sunday timetable.

On the bank holiday on January 2, Birmingham New Street to Worcester, via Bromsgrove and Droitwich, will have a usual weekday service and the cross-city line will have three trains per hour between Lichfield and Redditch, via Northfield, Longbridge, Barnt Green and Alvechurch.

A normal Saturday timetable will run on January 2 and a usual weekday service will return on January 3.

Usual ticket restrictions will apply and, between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, customers with Off-Peak and Off-Peak Day tickets will be allowed to travel in the evening peak during this period.

Morning restrictions will still apply.

On Boxing Day (Monday) and New Year’s Day – the bank holidays, all Off-Peak and Off-Peak Day tickets will be valid on any train for the journey stated on the ticket.

Restrictions will remain in place for tickets marked ‘London Midland Only’ (Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak and Advance) during the Christmas period. AM peak times are 6.30am to 9am and 4.30pm to 7pm.
