RESIDENTS at Bromsgrove’s Chandler Court on Recreation Road welcomed children from the town’s Castle Nursery to celebrate World Book Day.

The children and care home team members dressed up as their favourite characters with lifestyle co-ordinator Gail Bessent wearing a Princess Elsa outfit and Anna Perkins from the nursery taking on the role of Minnie Mouse.

Among the children were Mr Men, Spiderman and a unicorn.

The older people read stories aloud to the youngsters, including ‘Where the Wild Things Are’, ‘Room on the Broom’ and ‘Dear Zoo’ all proving popular.

Jo Gill, home manager at Chandler Court, said: “The communication, interaction and affection between the residents and the children was incredibly moving to see – they loved spending time with each other.

“We look forward to another visit from local nursery very soon.”
