CATSHILL First School children were inspired to create when children’s author and former teacher Andy Seed showed them how much fun writing could be, writes Eve Watson.

Andy is working with reception to year 4 pupils to nurture their creative writing abilities over the course of the year.

The author is hoping to have all pupils eventually published in an anthology.

Andy said: “It’s been a real joy working with the children and staff of Catshill First School.

“For an author like me, meeting readers and finding out what gets them excited and interested is wonderfully valuable and also tremendously enjoyable. I have been blown away not only by the rip-roaring enthusiasm of the pupils in every age group for books but also by the passionate dedication of the staff.

“Teaching is a very demanding role, and so much is expected of today’s school staff and yet at Catshill I see so much warmth, care, devotion and professionalism everywhere.”
