Catshill community comes together for the village's Christmas lights switch-on

THE CATSHILL community came together to get into the Christmas spirit on Saturday when the village’s annual lights switch-on took place.

More than 500 people attended the event which was supported by several local businesses and groups.

Little Bengal gave out free samosas and Catshill Pizza and the 6th Bromsgrove Scouts had a tombola.




Catshill Baptist Church provided mulled wine and Catshill Methodist Church supplied free special stars for the village Christmas tree.

Taking to the stage to provide live entertainment were the Chadsgrove and Fairfield First School choirs, Stars Dance Academy and the Methodist Men’s Choir.


The countdown and switch-on was performed by Bromsgrove District Council Chairman Coun Rod Laight and Father Christmas.

Coun Shirley Webb said it was a fantastically festive and feelgood occasion.

“Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this event such a success, a great community event.”
