Bromsgrove's Youth and Community Hub to run new weekly LGBTQ support group

Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Sep, 2018   0

BROMSGROVE’S Youth and Community Hub has announced it will be running a LGBTQ support group every Tuesday, allowing the community to have a ‘safe space to visit’.

The doors will be open between 5pm and 6pm, providing the perfect place for people ‘of all sexualities and genders’ to hang out.

The long-awaited Hub, in the basement of Bromsgrove Baptist Church on New Road, was officially launched on July 19.

Youth and Community Hub co-ordinator Sarah Mulhall, said: “This project is very close to our hearts and we want people to come and use it how they see fit.

“We are offering a comfortable environment for people from the LGBTQ community to come and relax in.”

Members at the Hub will also be on hand to offer LGBTQ people, aged between 11 and 19, a warm chat and some useful information if they need it.

Sarah added: “We also want people to feel like they can come here if they are a victim of hate crime.

“It’s not something we tolerate and it needs to be stamped out.”
