A SPECIAL event for those who have experienced the loss of a baby will take place at Bromsgrove’s St John’s Church between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday, October 18.
The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Memorial will provide an opportunity for people to reflect, remember and name their child.
Rev Ray Khan, vicar at St John’s, said: “In the past this simple service has brought comfort to many couples and families.
“I can remember a mother who was able for the first time to grieve and name the baby she lost over 20 years ago.”
He added a special time was needed when people could gather to remember their loss and that they travelled with others on that journey.
“I hope that this space can provide that for parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters.”
Covid restrictions mean the memorial will be different to previous services.
People can sit and remember, there will be music and the opportunity to put the names of babies on a butterfly tree and light a candle.
Participants can come and go as they wish but face masks must be worn.
