STAFF and pupils at Fairfield Pre-School are celebrating after being graded ‘outstanding’ in all areas by OFSTED for the second time in a row.
The inspectors’ report stated the ‘passionate’ and ‘enthusiastic’ management and the staff’s ongoing professional development led to ‘high-quality’ childcare and education where the children’s emotional wellbeing was given top priority.
Care for children with special educational needs was well-tailored to each individual, it added.
“The children have a fantastic time at this pre-school and their behaviour is exemplary.
“They are keen and eager to learn and full of smiles throughout the day.”
Sharon Shorthouse, who has been the manager of the pre-school for the last 21 years and bought it in 2011, said: “We are absolutely thrilled – it’s testament to our team and all their dedication.
“They work so hard to ensure the children who come here get the best possible outcomes.”
The only areas for improvement were for proposed changes to be continued and for the children to be given more opportunities to use low and high numbers.
The pre-school, based at Fairfield Village Hall, caters for up to 30 children.
It is open from 9am to 3pm every day at Fairfield Village Hall, apart from Wednesdays when it runs from 9am to midday.
There are some places available for September.
