A BROMSGROVE organisation which supports divorced parents in conflict has received a £10,000 Lottery grant to help it continue its work, writes Isabel Kimbrey.
The Claire Field Consultancy provides parents with supportive environment to help them resolve disputes after divorce or separation, whilst ensuring the mental well-being of the child is prioritised.
Claire Field, founder of the consultancy, is also the author of the Parenting Apart Programme.
It brings the parents together and helps re-educate them in communication skills that will help them provide for their children together.
She said: “Receiving the grant is amazing as it will allow us to reach out to the community that need us the most.
“Unless we can help the parents, the children have no chance which is why this grant will be so helpful in expanding on the number of practitioners we have to help deliver the programme.”
The money will go towards helping raise the profile of the consultancy and the programme, fund expertise and pave the way for the organisation to become a training company, rather than a provider.
“The work we do has been extremely successful and has helped so many people, and the grant means that we can continue to do that,” added Claire.
The consultancy has also partnered Family Action and has put in a joint bid Reaching Communities for three years worth of funds that will train frontline staff to provide the Parenting Apart Programme.
Claire said she had been approached by organisations such as Barnardo’s and Cafcas (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) which wanted to implement the Parenting Apart Programme into their own services.
Some families are referred to the consultancy but people in need of the help the organisation can offer can call 01527 903688.
