A CARING Bromsgrove company is putting on a free coffee morning for the older people across the district in a bid to help tackle loneliness, writes Charlotte Tomlinson.

The event at the Potting Shed Café, Singleton’s Nurseries in Bromsgrove, will be hosted by Care Force Ltd at 10.30am on Thursday, June 20, and coincides with Loneliness Awareness Week (LAW).

Guests can meet new people and chat with Care Force staff and an open discussion will also be held with Care Force’s operations director John Hollingsworth giving a talk about ‘Coping with Loneliness’.

He said as a provider of home care he and his staff were well aware of the issue of loneliness among older people.

“It’s an opportunity to bring seniors together who have experienced loneliness and who would benefit from meeting people in a friendly informal setting.”

Loneliness Awareness Week runs from Monday to Friday, June 17 to 21.

Pre-registration is essential for the event. Call 01527 577247 or email [email protected] to book places. Visit facebook.com/suecareforce for more information.
