BROMSGROVE has been ‘yarn bombed’ during Dementia Awareness Week to raise awareness of the condition.

The Redditch and Bromsgrove Dementia Friendly Community decided to brighten up the town centre in a bid to make people stop and think about those going through the disease.

The group focuses on raising awareness of dementia along with the care and help which is available.

It works with organisations to adapt their environments to support those living with dementia.

Volunteer Helen Mole said: “This disease is cruel to the patient and their friends and family.

“But there is help out there and we want people to know that there is help out there. We hope the yarn-bombing has raised our profile and we can continue to help our residents.”

The group is always looking for volunteers.

Email [email protected] for more information on becoming a volunteer, the group or the care and help available.

Dementia Awareness Week began last Monday and finished on Sunday.
