A BROMSGROVE slimmer who transformed her life by losing more than three-and-a-half stone is hoping to help others after becoming a Slimming World (SW) consultant.
Retired Bromsgrove and Droitwich Standard sales manager Tracey Gardner joined her local SW group in July 2018 and dropped from 13st 8.5lb to 10st.
She has now trained as a consultant at their headquarters in Derbyshire and will be taking over the Catshill SW group on June 26, running two weekly sessions on Wednesdays – at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tracey said: “After years of being overweight I knew something had to change.
“The catalyst was when I realised I was struggling to keep up with my two beautiful granddaughters when I took them to the park.”
She added the support and encouragement on her weight-loss journey was the most important thing.
“I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I can’t wait to get started.”
She added many people wrongly thought the best way to lose weight was through cutting things out but the way SW optimised food, no foods are banned.
The latest government figures reveal around one in four adults are obese and it estimates that by 2034 this will increase to one in three.
A ‘Bromsgrove Health and Well-being Profile’, published by Worcestershire County Council in March 2016, stated excess weight in adults in Bromsgrove – at 68.9 per cent – was significantly higher than the national average (64.6).
Tracey will be at the Food Warehouse, Bromsgrove Retail Park, from 11am to 2pm on Friday, June 14, to promote her new group and offer advice.
