YOUNGSTERS from Bromsgrove’s Meadows First School found out more about the job of an MP and the role within the Government when Sajid Javid paid them a visit.

The year four pupils also got to ask him a wide range of questions to find out more about democracy in the UK and shared their ideas about British values.

Teacher Sara Date said: “Mr Javid’s visit was a great opportunity for pupils to be inspired to work towards making positive changes in their community.”

Mr Javid said it was great to spend the morning with the pupils.

“With ‘Preparing for Life’ forming part of the school’s motto, it was fantastic to discuss democracy, and the role that the kids can play in their own School Council and wider community.

“I always enjoy keeping up to date with the things going on at Meadows First School and I’m grateful to pupils and teachers for a fun and memorable visit.”
