Bromsgrove Rugby Club players take part in 'glittering' charity walk for Children In Need

PLAYERS from Bromsgrove Rugby Club had a bit more sparkle about them on Sunday when they were covered from head to toe in glitter before embarking on a sponsored walk for the BBC’s Children In Need.

The beauty treatment was carried out at the town’s Studio 142 with the help of the club’s Donna Woodbine who convinced the players to take part.

Jay Martin, Josh Holt, Michael McPherson, Tom Hinks, Cam McCann, Tom Solomon and Mark Burrell were the ones embarking on a ‘glittering’ rugby career of a different kind.

Anne Hill, one of the salon’s clients and a spectator who got involved in the day, said: “I would like to thank Studio 142 for inviting us and giving us an opportunity to be part of a brilliant charity event that put smiles on so many faces.

“We all genuinely laughed until we cried.

“Such fun, in fact, days on and I am still finding bits of glitter falling off me.”

The event, which also featured a raffle and a duck race sweepstake, has so far raised £400 but people still have time to donate to the cause.
