Bromsgrove Rotary Club rings in with the cash to help town care home

BROMSGROVE Rotary Club has donated £3,000 towards the installation of new silent call technology at St John’s Court Nursing Home.

Once it is installed residents will be able to call the care home’s staff to their rooms silently by pressing a bell at their bedsides.

Currently every time a resident presses the bell the whole building rings loudly which can be frustrating for residents not in need of attention.

Resident Brenda said: “The new call system will add to the atmosphere of relaxation and cheerfulness here at St John’s.

“It will make a small, yet big difference to my life.”

Care home manager Faye Upton said the new system would also minimise the inconvenience to visitors and volunteers.

“We are pleased to have been chosen to receive this donation from the Rotary Club to help us meet our aim of continuously striving for excellence.”
