Bromsgrove residents urged to ‘sing in the new year’ this January

BROMSGROVE residents have been urged to ‘sing in the new year’ this January.

In the month of resolutions and new beginnings the Got 2 Sing choir leader Carrie Garrett wants Bromsgrovians to warm up their vocal chords and get singing.

Got 2 Sing starts its new term on January 18 at Aston Fields Middle School and Carrie is hoping to introduce people to singing as a means of living healthier and happier lives.

Participants will be trained in vocal technique, harmony and performance.

Beth Dunn, founder of Got 2 Sing, said: “Got 2 Sing is not your typical ‘stand behind the music’ type of choir as there’s no requirement to read music or audition.

“Our rehearsals are friendly and fun and we sing wonderful, uplifting popular songs in three-part harmony and put some movement to the songs to bring them to life.

“From experience I know how much singing together can improve people’s self-esteem, health and confidence and being part of a choir has helped many of our members with loneliness, depression and anxiety, offering a sense of community and belonging.”

The sessions will be every Thursday from 7.30pm to 9pm from January 18.
