Bromsgrove ready for its annual carnival parade today

Bromsgrove Editorial 14th Jul, 2018   0

BROMSGROVE is ready for its annual carnival parade and arena event which takes place today.

The much-loved lorry floats which made a welcome comeback last summer after 12 years will be back for the second year running.

In the procession will be floats from several town organisations, including Blackwell Concert Band, Fairfield First School and Libby Mae’s Little Angels with each one representing a different country.

The parade will begin at North Bromsgrove High School at 12.30pm, journeying to the carnival arena in Sanders Park, via The Strand, Market Street and the Kidderminster Road.

It is expected to reach the arena at 1.15pm where BBC TV and radio presenter and Bromsgrove resident Joanne Malin will announce the best float and best walking group.

Popular band Skabucks will then perform at 2pm, followed by more live music and dance. There will also be a funfair and a host of stalls.

Parade organiser Natalie Holland said they had so much positive feedback last year about the return of the floats and she was hoping for another brilliant turnout this year.

The annual Timberhonger 10k will also take place at 6pm on the Saturday with the Children’s Challenge at 5pm.

Visit www.timberhonger10k.co.uk to enter the races or for more information.

Some stalls in the carnival arena are still available. Check out the ‘Bromsgrove Carnival’ Facebook to book and for more information on this year’s event.
