BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid is holding his third annual Pensioners’ Advice Fair from 10am and midday tomorrow (Friday) at the Council House, Parkside.
More than 50 exhibitions will be at this year’s event including West Mercia Police, The Royal British Legion, Age UK, the Stroke Association, Sight Concern, the Bromsgrove Older People’s Forum, Artrix and more.
The ‘Connecting Families’ scheme will focusing on raising awareness of falls prevention for retired people at the fair and First Aid demonstrations are planned throughout the day.
The fair will also be centred around reducing the stigma surrounding dementia sufferers following Bromsgrove receiving Friendly Community Status with the Alzheimer’s Society earlier this year.
Last year’s event was attended by more than 500 older people.
Mr Javid said it would be a real community-focused event.
“It’s so important that we continue to back our local organisations by bringing together the very best of Bromsgrove.
“It’s events like this which keep our spirit alive.”
