A DEFERENTIAL Bromsgrove marked VJ Day with a classy parade at the Burma Star Memorial this morning, August 15.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War ll and the closing of the Burma Star Association.

The conflict in the Far East brought together service personnel from all corners of the then British Empire, including a large contingent from the Indian Army as well as Chinese and American troops.

The parade, which took place at 11am, was spearheaded by Rev Rahman Khan and the Bromsgrove Royal British Legion who carried out Covid-19 risk assessments prior to the event.
