BROMSGROVE Liberal Democrats say they have established themselves as the only opposition to a damaging ‘no deal’ Brexit following the results of the European Parliamentary elections.
The Liberal Democrats received 5,857 votes in the town, coming second only to the Brexit Party with 10,700 votes.
Lickey Hill Councillor and the chair of Bromsgrove Lib Dems, Coun Janet King, said: “The elections were a fantastic result for us here in the town.
“We have worked hard for the past three years while other parties have been non-existent when it comes to the EU.”
The group’s leader, Rob Hunter, said: “After our great results in the recent local election, taking three seats and being the only party to make net gains on the council, we are over-the-moon.
“This really cements us as the real opposition to the Conservatives here in Bromsgrove.”
