BOSSES at Bromsgrove Sports and Leisure Centre (BSLC) said the venue would remain open until the Government advised otherwise to help people maintain their health and wellbeing.

Everyone Active which runs BSLC has stepped up cleaning regimes at all its centres, paying particular attention to ‘key touch-point areas’ and asking customers to support the staff’s efforts by using the anti-bacterial cleaning sprays and paper towels to wipe down exercise equipment before and after use.

People are also being reassured about swimming following advice from the PWTAG (Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group) that the water and chlorine within the swimming pools will help to kill the virus.

Swimming lessons are also continuing as usual.

Lloyd Barraclough, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “We are closely monitoring all advice and guidance from the Government and Public Health England and are updating our colleagues and customers accordingly.

“This includes having notices in clear view within all our sites that state the recommended preventative measures.

“We would like to emphasise that staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle should remain a priority for our colleagues and members.”
