A ‘PENGUIN’S Presents’ campaign has seen gifts delivered to a number of charities, including the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, NewStarts, Edward’s Trust and Birmingham Dogs Home.

The drive is the brainchild of Bromsgrove company Penguin Supplies Ltd which wanted to do something after hearing of the charities’ plights caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The cash was raised through a number of fun festive events.

The Christmas Jumper Day raised £100 for the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, £270 in food donations for NewStarts came from a running challenge and then £100 in food vouchers was

donated to bereavement support charity Edward’s Trust.

The final donation of £100 worth of pet treats was made to Birmingham Dogs Home which is full to capacity.

Chris Hopkinson, Penguin Supplies Ltd director, said: “It goes without saying this year has had a huge impact on all corners of society but charities have really felt the strain.

“Normally this time of year I would be visiting customers and suppliers with Christmas gifts but due to restrictions this was going to prove difficult and we wanted to keep our contacts safe too with social distancing.”

The staff came up with Penguin’s Presents to help charities close to employees’ hearts.

“It’s the time for giving and I’ve been overwhelmed by the gratitude of each of the charities.”
