Bromsgrove firefighters tackle lorry blaze on M42

THE TRAILER of a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) caught fire last night (Tuesday) on the motorway at Hopwood.

Firefighters from Redditch and Bromsgrove were called to the M42 junction 2 at 11.15pm to tackle the lorry blaze which required both water and foam to put out.

The driver was taken to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service and the incident was left with police and Highways after the vehicle was made safe.
