A BROMSGROVE housing provider is offering advice to its tenants to help them get online and surf safely as part of today’s Safer Internet Day, writes Louise Newton.
Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (BDHT) has run several campaigns as part of its ‘Digital Inclusion’ scheme, aiming to provide online access to services and encouraging people to be more confident when using the web.
People can visit bdht.co.uk for more about the scheme and for helpful security tips, including creating unique and complex passwords, not sharing personal details online, avoiding clicking emails from unknown senders and only using secure websites when shopping.
Beverley Green, from BDHT, said: “As part of our ongoing customer support programme, we offer training to help people get online, increasing access to vital services.
“An important element of this is teaching people to stay safe and protect their details when using the internet.
“These tips will hopefully ensure they can safeguard themselves online.”
