Bromsgrove Community Pantry launches appeal for volunteers to help the homeless

Bromsgrove Editorial 20th Apr, 2019 Updated: 20th Apr, 2019   0

APPEAL has been launched to find volunteers for the new Bromsgrove Community Pantry which is aimed at helping the homeless.

The group will source free surplus food from reputable suppliers and supermarkets that is within its sell-by dates so it can be used to feed those in need.

The pantry originated from the Worcestershire Homeless Appeal and will be open to everyone in the community.

It will act as a place for neighbours, volunteers and anyone else to meet up, have a chat, a cup of tea, to meet new people, socialise and support their community.

There will be a volunteers group meeting at St Andrew’s Church, Lyttleton Avenue, Bromsgrove, at 6pm on Thursday, April 25.

The organisers say in order for the pantry to work and for it to be successful they need as many volunteers as possible.
