Bromsgrove charity shop to officially re-open this morning after revamp

A BROMSGROVE charity shop will officially re-open at 9,30am this morning after undergoing a revamp.

The St Richard’s Hospice Shop in Mill Lane, near Iceland, was previously the vintage dress agency Déjà Vu but has been transformed into a traditional charity shop.

It will boast a fresh stock of men’s and ladies clothing, accessories, bric-a-brac and new goods over one floor.

Dan Corns, the charity’s commercial director, said: “We are excited to re-open our Bromsgrovestore this weekend.

“We have updated the shop to a traditional format, as our previous dress agency did not perform in the same way as our Déjà vu store in Malvern.

“Customers can browse a wonderful range of quality second-hand and new goods – with proceeds helping to fund our care to patients and their families.

“We have an ever-growing portfolio of fantastic shops, all staffed by a brilliant team of staff and volunteers, across the county.”

And he urged anyone interested in giving up a few hours to help out at the shop to get in touch.

“If you are interested in volunteering at our new shop in Bromsgrove, gaining skills and helping to make a difference, then we want to hear from you.”

Following the official re-opening, the shop hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday.

St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days. It also supports their loved ones.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,300 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

St Richard’s is an independent charity and relies on donations and gifts in wills for the majority of its income with 22 per cent funded by the NHS.

The hospice is also raising funds for the Build 2020 Appeal and is part way through developing a bigger hospice, enabling more patients and families to be cared for in Worcestershire. The total cost for expanding and redeveloping the existing building in Wildwood Drive, Worcester, is £5.3million.
