A BROMSGROVE bottle shop and tap room is leading the way to keep residents and visitors to the town hydrated.

Bayleys, on Worcester Road, is the first business in the District to join the national Refill scheme which sees participating cafes, bars and restaurants welcoming passers-by to refill their water bottles, for free, at their premises.

Owners George and Jack Bayley have placed a sticker in their window to let people know they can refill at their bar.

George said: “We are proud to be the first business in Bromsgrove to join this scheme and to be helping reduce the amount of plastic used.

“We look forward to meeting the new customers who come to fill up their bottles.”

There are maps available as part of the campaign which highlight the places where to can fill up for free and an app.

Bromsgrove District Council’s Centres Manager Cheryl Welsh who is rolling out the campaign across the District, added: “This is our first step to introducing Refill across the District.

“The scheme has received a great response from local businesses and I look forward to seeing more and more stickers in windows across the District.”
