Breakfast raises a tasty total in Tardebigge

BREAKFAST was the most important meal of the day for 300 hungry diners who headed to Tardebigge last Saturday.

Despite fears over attendance numbers in light of coronavirus, visitors flocked to the village hall for the annual Big Breakfast.

Admission was by donation and the event, held in conjunction with Bromsgrove Farmers Club, raised £3,100 on the door for the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

There was also a tombola and cash is still coming in.

Helen Hirons, who organises the event with Sarah May, said: “The day was a great success, it was lovely to see so many familiar faces supporting us and enjoying their breakfast.

“A big thank you goes to all the companies and people who donated food and services and everyone who cooked, served, cleared and washed up.

“It is a real team effort but without everyone helping the day would not happen.”

Since its launch in 2003 the event, held at Tardebigge Community Hall, has now raised £49,730 for the causes.

Sarah said: “We are so close to the total of £50,000 being donated over the 17 years – let’s make it happen.”

People can still donate to get the event through that magic milestone – anyone interested in contributing should call Helen on 07976 573306 or Sarah on 07930 284067.
