A BRAVE Bromsgrove pupil slept rough on Birmingham streets last Friday as part of charity St Basil’s ‘Big Sleepout’ event.
Despite the freezing conditions, Tristan Shaylor, and his brother Max, managed to last the entire night by sleeping in a ‘shelter’ made out of cardboard boxes and plastic sheeting.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness and money for young people at risk of homelessness and to help find them accommodation.
Bromsgrove Preparatory School pupil Tristan said: “There was a great community spirit and everyone really enjoyed the excitement of sleeping out.
“We all felt like it was quite an achievement.”
Tristan and his brother Max raised more than £350 in sponsorship.
