A FEARLESS 11-year-old girl from Bromsgrove shaved her head last week and in the process raised more than £400 for the Macmillian Cancer Support Group.

Abby Wilkes had her head shaved in memory of her nan who passed away from cervical cancer two years ago.

She decided to take part in the ‘Brave the Shave’ event which was set up by Redditch Charity Bikers and was held at the Harvester in Studley on Friday.

Proud mum Barbara Wilkes said: “We are so proud. People were in tears watching it happen.

“Abby is overwhelmed by the support that people have shown her and she hasn’t been affected by having short hair at all.”

The founding member of Redditch Charity Bikers, Allen Morris, also had his head shaved off for charity.

Mrs Wilkes added: “Thank you to everyone who donated and to the stylist who stepped in to do the shave at the last minute.”
