A NEW selection of books is on its way to Catshill Village Pre-School after a former pupil showed her love of reading with a special fund-raiser.
Imogen Foster was at the pre-school when the lockdown began and, after missing out on her ‘graduation’ to big school and saying goodbye to all her friends, decided to do something for the nursery.
Her mum Laura runs her own Usborne bookshop Tangled Tales and challenged her to sit silently and listen to some stories.
Imogen managed to listen for 12 minutes while Laura read to her and, after hearing about the challenge, the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove donated £200 and £115 was pledged by members of the Catshill community.
Laura said: “She was absolutely chuffed to give the books to the Catshill Village Pre-School managers Nicky and Lisa – it was an extra bonus after not being able to say ‘goodbye’.”
